From Dec 31st 2009 we spent 3 nights at Bushwalk B&B. Sandra and Bruce took care of us just as if we had been members of the family since a long time - we really felt integrated and finally left as friends. We received excellent advices for sightseeing and hiking in the Nelson and Abel Tasman area; they even took us with their car to Kaiteriteri and back again in the evening - not to speak about the wonderful time doing some tries of pottery together and the unforgettable barbecue night. The accommodation can be highly recommended. If someone is looking for a stay in the Nelson - Abel Tasman area it is worthwhile to consider the Bushwalk seriously: Even if Wakefield is not just in the center of the touristic area it is really worth to stay there, accept some kilometres drive and enjoy the hospitality of Sandra and Bruce! (Our personal worldwide B&B award now moved from Scotland to Bushwalk B&B)

We stayed 2 nights B&B . Our hosts cooked us beautiful meals, shared
their wine ,taught us how to make pots (they are both talented artists)
and made us feel so welcome. The evening visit by the Tuis and wood
pigeons really made our visit memorable. I would definitely return and
highly recommend this as a B&B.

This was a wonderful place to stay. We had been on the road for some
time and it was nice to have a friendly, personalised retreat to stop
for a night. Our hosts were wonderful. Their kindness and hospitality
were excellent and their cheerful company was most welcome. We enjoyed
refreshments on the deck and their delicious home-cooked
meals. The property was beautiful, surrounded by trees and wildlife.
My only consideration in visiting again would be that I wouldn't have
an extended stay as there wasn't a lot on offer in the surrounding
area. But for a short term stay, with the ambience and hospitality as it
was, we didn't feel the need to leave the property at all!

David & Diane Corbett stayed with Sandra & Bruce for 3 nights, at the
end of a 5-week fly-drive holiday to Australia & the South Island of New Zealand.
- We
stayed with them on the personal recommendation of friends, and were
not dissapointed. We found Sandra & Bruce to be the perfect hosts
who were very accommodating. They went the extra mile to ensure your
stay with them was happy and stress free. Wonderful food,
beautiful clean quiet accommodation, and an ideal location for touring
the Abel Tasman area.
- We recommend you visit Rabbit Island, about
a 15 minute drive, and take the scenic coast road to Moteuka; then
onwards to Takaka. Just past Takaka, a visit to the Pupu Freshwater
Springs is a must. Also visit Kaiteriteri, and take a water taxi to one
of the secluded beaches to be found on the Abel Tasman peninsula.
- New
Zealand is well known for the hospitality of B & B accommodation.
Having travelled extensively within NZ on two visits, Bushwalk B & B
was the best of a very good bunch. We have no hesitation in
recommending the home of Sandra & Bruce, you will not be
dissapointed.

- We were driving around, trying to find a place for the night, when we
saw the sign for a B&B on the main street. After a while we found
that hidden place in the green. Sandra welcomed us like good old
friends, showed us the luxurious room with own terrace and large
bathroom. Sandra and Bruce invited us to sit with them, we had
interesting discussions and decided to visit Bruce on his market stand
in Nelson the next day. If we would have more time, we would have loved
to spend it at the Bushwalk B&B and can highly recommend it.

We couldn't have asked for more caring or accommodating hosts! Sandra
and Bruce made us feel right at home. We had a lovely evening making
pottery and then a leisurely breakfast the next morning at which we were
spoiled with lots of good cooking. Sandra and Bruce also took the time
to give us some excellent recommendations for things to do in the area.
Our one regret is that we could stay with them only one night ...

This was an opportunity to experience the real New Zealand. Our room was
perfect, surrounded by decking and set in a beautiful woodland
location. Add to this the home cooking and a recommendation on great
boat trip on Abel Tasman; the result was a stay that was a special part
of our wonderful visit to New Zealand.
