Bush Walk Bed & Breakfast Homestay is a home away from home in the village of Wakefield, 29km south of Nelson City. It is set amongst New Zealand native bush, in a lovely secluded setting.
The Bed & Breakfast is well situated for those travelling north or south, who want to explore the Nelson region. A gallery is located on site where Bruce and Sandra have their work on display: paintings, cards, pottery and children's chairs & tables.
On arrival, guests are offered refreshments, and a Kiwi breakfast is included in the price, using the freshest local ingredients. For an additional cost, dinner is available. Sandra cooks a delicious, traditional Kiwi dinner with modern accents, using fine, local produce accompanied by the best regional wines. Dietary needs are taken into account.
The entire upstairs area of the house has been set aside for guests with tea/coffee facilities. There are two rooms available and both open onto a private deck which has a table & chairs where guests can sit and watch the native Wood Pigeons, Bellbirds and Tui's. Wake in the morning to the chorus of native birds while lying in the extra long Queen sized bed with a fantastic view of the native Beech and Totara tree canopy. A bay window overlooks the courtyard.
Faulkners Bush reserve borders the boundary and it can be used as a shortcut to the village of Wakefield. It is a large park with pathways through the original native bush. It has a play area for the children and BBQ's for the public to use. From the lookout you can view the wonderful vista from Wakefield to Nelson, right out to Tasman Bay.
